As obama threw his temper tantrum in the Rose Garden something occurred to me. Maybe it should have been obvious before, but obama's tactics of constant antagonistic lobbying for changes he wants to make got in the way. Simply stated, if you can't stand on the merits of what you are fighting for and are looking to fundamentally change law for the sake of action of any kind then it probably isn't good change.
But what I realized is this: obama's brand of 'rule' is that of the classroom, not that of the real world. His "common sense" changes do not aid in the betterment of the US or of it's citizens. obama's "common sense" efforts are actually pointless, impotent and in some cases not only counter productive, but dangerous.
An example would be: Johnny writes on his desk with a Sharpie. So the teacher makes a new rule that NOBODY is allowed to have a Sharpie, or any other type os permanent marker in the classroom. That type of 'rule' works in the classroom because there the students have already forfeited many of their rights to attend the class. Does this remind you of any recent attempts at change by obama?
In the real world obama is trying to strip away the rights of US citizens in order to implement laws that have no bearing on the actions that created the outcry in order to give the government more power.
If obama cared about true "common sense" he would have encouraged enforcement of existing laws and possibly put more teeth in those laws that while already in place, lacked the bite of deterrence.
This is not only the case for gun law reform, but with immigration reform as well.
It is blatantly obvious why obama took many of the families aboard air-force one and flew them to DC in order to speak to congress. I understand their need to try and do something. However they were being used by obama as props, as he has done in the past, to further his big government agenda. Try to forget that he did NOT take any of those parents that didn't hold his point of view. Try to forget that any time someone does not agree with obama, they are the ones with no "common sense" or "weak". That's all just some more pathetic obama rhetoric.
Then when you take the mentioning of the Boston tragedy in the same sentence with immigration reform those same supporters of obama scream bloody hell that the right is trying to capitalize on said tragedy.
The difference? Immigration reform would have and will have a direct impact on such attempts while the gun reform that obama tried to pass would have done nothing to prevent anything and only succeeds in punishing law abiding citizens.
In fact, simply enforcing current immigration laws may have made a difference, but obama made it clear that he would not do that. obama even put back in place the vetting process that allowed the terrorists form the September 11 attacks to enter the country. Hmm. Common sense?
You may consider the fact that obama also cut the domestic IED budget by 45%. This action by obama occurred BEFORE any sequester. Why would he do that? Hmm. Common sense?
And on the environmental front John Kerry was prancing around Asia touting obama's climate change fairy tale, and then has the nerve to tell congress that he doesn't "have time" to brief them on the findings on the Benghazi attack. Step in time with the other obama minions Mr. Kerry.
If obama cares so much about the environment, why doesn't he put to bed this ethanol addiction he has. It has already been proven that it has and is increasing the amount of green house gases in the atmosphere while at the same time taking food from the mouths of hundreds of thousands of starving people in poor countries. Hmm. Common sense?
Lastly, I don't expect anyone to take anything stated in this blog at face value. I expect you to ask the questions and research the answers. Go to the root, not the bias media. And don't expect others that are doing the same thing to see what you see either.
A recent article on job numbers slammed Bush's record while giving obama unearned credit for increasing numbers. Unfortunately, as is most often the case, the article ignored many of the numbers published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and cherry picked those that fit their theme.
The fact is that bush did have a decline from when he took office. He went from having 64.4% of the available work force working to 62.3% after four years and 62.2% after eight years, a drop of 2.2%.
Bush's unemployment rate went from 4% when taking office to 5.5% after four years, to 5.8% after eight years. An increase of 1.8%.
obama took that 62.2% working workforce and that 5.8% unemployment rate and after four years whittled the number of workforce workers to 58.6% and the unemployment rate up to 8.1%!
It's pretty obvious that obama's economic policies and fiscal mishandling of the government isn't doing anyone any good. In fact the US is going in the wrong direction and will continue to do so with every QE and stimulus he tosses at the problem. But obama doesn't seem to see this fact. A fact that is, after all, just common sense.
